Mission Statement
Through community and the sport of SKWIM, we
strive to advance water safety and water fitness at every level,
while spreading the spirit and passion for the game.
ABOUT US
SKWIM International is a non-profit organization
charged with the mission of promoting and developing the sport of
SKWIM and to live out its Mission Statement. SKWIM
International’s operations are governed according to the
current Bylaws.

Shari’s focus is on service:
that the Association be responsive to its membership, a good
steward of its assets, and that teamwork, be
our paramount for success. With over 20 years experience
and success at all levels within Washington State Soccer(USA), from
Adult to Youth leagues, she is now translating those skills to
SKWIM. She believes in positively motivating those
around her to achieve goals in order to make the organization
successful. She believes in the positive effects that SKWIM
brings to all ages, but particularly to youth. She is committed to
the development of players, the game, and the resources needed to
have Skwim known and played around the world. She hopes to
contribute to the growth of SKWIM in the areas of membership,
referee’s, coaching development, and the player safety, while
in the care of the SKWIM organization. Shari is married with two
grown children and a newly swimming granddaughter.
Kevin McCarthy - Founder, Volunteer Head

- Kevin is current volunteer Head Coach for the
Redmond Rays SKWIM Team, Redmond WA, General Manager for
the Sammamish SKWIM Club, and Coaching Director for SKWIM
USA Youth Association. Kevin and his wife Sherri live in
Sammamish, WA and have 5 children; Jennifer, Bryant, Caroline,
Marcie, and Nick; ages 26 to 11 years. Professionally, Kevin is
with the design group Lead Team Development. based in Redmond WA,
and has been designing sports products for 30 years with companies
including; Crocs, Surface, Speedo, Nike Swim, AMF, Starbucks,
Leader, O’Brien, Johnson Outdoors, Coleman, Swimways and
others. He studied Ergonomics at the University of California Santa
Barbara; enjoys music with Sherri, youth coaching, athletics, and
particularly SKWIM.
